Price List

If you are interested in the Music and the Brain materials and your school is ineligible for a grant, you may purchase the program materials.  Overall costs will vary according to quantities and shipping costs. While the purchase of our materials is an open to anyone, we do require all schools to have a teacher trained by Music and the Brain before using the curriculum materials in the classroom. MATB Materials Cost Estimates: (based on printer rates)

MATB Piano Book: $30 (price dependent on number of books ordered)
This contains all three Music and the Brain Books in a 3-ring binder with tabs.
Book I (46 songs), Book II (34 songs) and Book III (75 songs).

 

MATB Book One Teachers Manual: $35
This book gives explanations of and lesson plans for all 43 songs. Available in English, French, Spanish, Japanese and Hebrew.
Introduction (16 pages), Lessons (168 pages) and Index (44 pages which include an extensive index of songs and list of children's books to compliment the lessons) in a three ring binder.

MATB Theory Papers: $35
Theory papers are music worksheets that give students a chance to work on their understanding of music concepts and keyboard skills.  These worksheets include papers for: keyboards, directionality, lines & spaces, skip step & repetition, practice drawing notes, identification of notes and rests, treble and bass notes names, notes on the grand staff, stems, beats per measure, math and composition. All are printed on extra heavy paper (171 pages) and presented in a wide, 3-ring binder (to allow for additional papers) with tabs.

MATB CD Binder (27 Song and Rhythm CD recordings):  $150

Book One 3 CD set:
CD 1: All the songs sung acapella and with piano, and played solo piano.
CDs 2 & 3: All the songs, at a much slower tempo and with a click track, sung acapella and played on the piano.

Book Two 2 CD set:
All the songs sung acapella and with piano, and played solo piano. (All at a normal and also slow speed with a click track).

Book Three 4 CD set:
All the songs sung acapella and with piano, and played solo piano. (All at a normal and also slow speed with a click track).

Rhythm 18 CD set:
The 18 CD set includes CDs for rhythms in 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 4/4 with triplets, 3/4 with triplets, 4/4 with syncopation and 4/4 with 16th notes. On these there are individual tracks which correspond to each rhythm card (presented in several different ways and played on many different percussion instruments). There are also CDs with longer tracks that encompass all the rhythms in a given set of cards, presented instrumentally and vocally. Finally there are CDs with groove tracks to serve as a background during rhythmic training in class.

Set of 147 Rhythm Cards: $440
These include 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8, triplets, syncopations, 16th notes in 4/4, and individual notes in the bass and treble (quarter, half, whole and eighth). The cards are 8 ½" X 11" or 8 ½" X 14" and are very strong and heavily laminated.

Laminated Keyboard Cards: $3 each

Strongly laminated 8 ½" X 14" cards for use away from the piano.  One side has a keyboard and the other a drawing of the left and right hands with finger numbers.  Quantities ordered are dependent on the number of students. It is recommended that each student have their own card.

Set of 10 Red and Yellow laminated note name cards: $30
Double-sided laminated cards for learning the notes names and fingering for Middle C Position.  Red cards ("red right") associate fingers 1,2,3,4,and 5 with notes C,D,E,F, and G, and yellow cards ("lemon yellow left") associate fingers 1,2,3,4 and 5 with notes C,B,A,G,F.

DVD: $15
This Music and the Brain DVD shows one full class being taught. The lesson is "Amazing Grace" filmed in 2001 at a public school in Queens, New York.
